3rd Annual Juried Regional High School Art Exhibit

April 5- 27, 2003

Students from six area high schools (Clearwater, Dexter, Doniphan, East Carter County, Poplar Bluff and Puxico) entered over 50 pieces of art. First, second and third prizes, and honorable mentions were awarded in five categories. These categories are acrylic/oil, graphic arts, mixed media, three-dimensional and watercolor. Best of Show was awarded to an untitled ceramic piece by Cody Douglas of Puxico high School. A People's Choice Award was awarded at the end of the exhibit to the student receiving the most votes from MHAM visitors.

Honorable Mention-Justin Bennett, Clearwater

3-Dimensional:
First Place-Cody Douglas, Puxico
brSecond Place-Elise Young, Dexter
Third Place-Tim Ross, Clearwater
Honorable Mention-Lisa Griffy, Puxico

Watercolor:
First Place-Matthew Rogers, Doniphan
Second Place-Melinda Barnes, East Carter County
Third Place-Rebecca Barfield, Doniphan
Honorable Mention-Jonathan Wilson, Doniphan

The opening reception was hosted by Spain, Merrell and Miller, LLP to honor the students and their teachers and families. Awards were presented at the reception by Mayor Scott Faughn.
