Nine area schools (Clarkton, Clearwater, Dexter, Doniphan, East Carter County, Neelyville, Poplar bluff, Puxico and Van Buren) entered over 70 pieces of art. First, second, and third prizes, and honorable mentions were awarded in six categories. These categories are acrylic, graphic arts, mixed media, photography, three-dimensional, and watercolor. Best of Show was awarded to "Silent Romance", a graphic arts piece by Carrie DeArman of Dexter High School. A People's Choice Award will be awarded at the end of the exhibit to the student receiving the most votes from MHAM visitors.

The opening reception was held at MHAM on Sunday April 4, to honor the students and their teachers and families. Awards were presented at the reception to the winners.
