September 11th

(10 a.m. – noon)

“PATRIOT DAY – RED, WHITE AND BLUE” Ages 7-12

SPONSORED BY THE MARGARET HARWELL ART MUSEUM

Students will learn design and basic printmaking techniques, such as the monoprint and collagraph, while exploring patriotic themes.  $10.00 fee includes materials.


September 11th & 18th

(1 p.m. – 3 p.m.)

“FAMILY BOOKMAKING WORKSHOP”
All ages; all skill levels

OFFERED BY LISA JOELE TUTTLE STUDIO

** In this two-session workshop, families will work together to create a fine art accordion book commemorating their family or a special event.  Participants will learn basic design and printmaking/mixed media techniques.  $50.00 fee includes materials for up to 3 family members; an additional $5.00 materials fee is required for each additional participant.  Class size is limited to 10 families.

(9 a.m. – 11 a.m.)

“MESSY MASKS”
Ages 3 – 4

(with adult accompaniment)

** Students will explore the use of basic art materials, such as paint, markers, glue/collage techniques as they create a fun mask.  DRESS FOR A MESS.  $10.00 fee includes materials.

September 18th
(9 a.m. – 12 p.m.)

“BUILD IT UP”
Ages 5 – 6

OFFERED BY LISA JOELE TUTTLE STUDIO

** Students will learn three-dimensional composition as they create assemblage sculptures using basic art materials such as paint, wooden shapes and repurposed materials.  Snacks provided.  DRESS FOR A MESS.  $15.00 fee includes materials.

 


October 7th, 15th, 21st and 28th (Teen Fridays, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)

“SOMETHING FROM NOTHING”
Ages 13 +
OFFERED BY LISA JOELE TUTTLE STUDIO

** In this 4-session workshop, participants will create monochromatic assemblage sculptures from found objects, learning 3-D composition, shape and spatial relationships.  $60.00 fee includes basic materials; some found objects may be required, as determined by individual projects.  Class size is limited to 12 students.


October 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th

“BASIC DRAWING”
Adult First-Timers and Advanced Beginners

** In this 4-session workshop, participants will learn the basics of line, value and proportion using charcoal.  $50.00 fee includes materials.  Class size is limited to 12 students.

“PLEIN-AIR BOOT CAMP”
Ages 7-12

** Students will learn to draw and paint from nature on museum grounds while improving their observation skills.  Students should bring a sack lunch; beverages will be provided.  DRESS FOR A MESS.  $60.00 fee includes materials.  Class size is limited to 12 students.

“AUTUMNAL ART”
Ages 7-12

** Students will learn basic drawing skills, including composition, line and value.  Students will draw a still life from natural objects collected on museum grounds.  $10.00 fee includes materials.


November 20th
(10 a.m. – noon)

“ABSTRACT DISCOVERIES”
Ages 7-12

SPONSORED BY THE MARGARET HARWELL ART MUSEUM

** Students will use examples of abstract paintings from the 20th century to inspire paintings of their own.  Students will learn beginning acrylic painting techniques.  $10.00 fee includes materials.

December 18th

(10 a.m. – noon)

“SCULPTURES IN WINTER WHITE”
Ages 7-12

SPONSORED BY THE MARGARET HARWELL ART MUSEUM

** Students will learn three-dimensional spatial concepts and elements of design by creating a sculpture inspired by snowflakes.  $10.00 fee includes materials.
