Poplar Bluff Artists' Guild to Hold Annual Exhibit

The Poplar Bluff Artists' Guild will hold its 50th Annual Regional Exhibit at MHAM, November 1-30. The Artists' Guild will sponsor an opening reception to honor the participants, which will be held at the museum Sunday, November 2, from 1 to 3 pm. This exhibit has been sponsored every year since its inception by Commerce bank.

The exhibit is a competition open to anyone 18 years of age or older residing within 100 miles of Poplar Bluff. Entrants are allowed to enter three original works of art (two of any size, one miniature) never before exhibited in Butler County. Works must be appropriately framed and wired for hanging. Categories for artwork are Oil, Acrylic, 3 dimensional, Watercolor, Mixed Media, Graphic Arts, (pastels, pencil, ink, computer art, etc.) Fiber (weaving, batik, etc.) and Miniature. Cash prizes will be awarded as merited in each category for first, second, and third places. A Best of Show will also be awarded, as well as a People's Choice Award, which will be voted on by viewers during the exhibit and awarded at the end.
