Plein Air Schedule and Rules

Entry fee is $35.00. This fee includes the artist being eligible for prize money, and having a booth in the
festival. The artist may have a partner manning the booth while the artists paints. Original works or
prints of the artists own works may be sold.


Artists must have their canvases or panels stamped.


Artists may enter as many canvases or panels as they can complete. All media is welcome


Artists may begin as soon as they have their canvases stamped. The opening reception is from 4:00 till
6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, but the museum will open at 1:00 p.m. Artists may get an early start if
they choose. There will be wine and hors-d’oeuvres served.


The Downtown Poplar Bluff Corporation is having a dinner/auction/fundraiser, at the Black River
Coliseum at 6:00 that night, everyone is welcome to attend.


Later arriving artists may have their canvases stamped after 9:00 a.m. at the museum. On Friday and
Saturday. The facilities will remain open, to provide restrooms and snacks for artists.


All works to be judged must be turned in at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, or sooner if an artist is compelled to
leave early.


There will be a reception beginning at 1:00 at the museum. All public is welcome to attend.


Award presentation will be at 2:30. Judging will be done by nationally renowned Russian Colorist and
plein air artist, Don Sahli.


Prizes are:
BEST OF SHOW: $500.00
FIRST PLACE: $250.00


Judged artwork will be displayed at the museum. There will be a 20% commission on any works sold
through the museum. Only works sold during the viewing are subject to the commission.




On Saturday, June 11, during the Family Fun Festival, you may set-up and provide your own booth.

We welcome all artists to exhibit their original artwork in all media. Non electric booths are $35.00,
there are a limited number of electric spaces for $50.00. First come, first serve on Saturday. You may
stake a claim on Main Street or on the grounds of the museum.
FOOD TRUCKS are welcome! You must clear your operation with the Butler County Health Department.

FOOD TRUCK Fees are $50.00 for light food, $75.00 for heavy food. We will have main Street blocked off
and you can set up right out front. First to reserve gets first pick of spot.
